Introducing Trade Copilot – a TradingView-based Automated Trade Manager

Frustrated with charting on TradingView but having to port the trade data over to a 3rd party trade management app I set out to find a solution which minimized user entry data and which was intuitive and integrated directly into TradingView.

I began developing TradeCopilot over three years ago and found it to immediately impact my trading stats!  Gone were silly entry errors of misplaced decimal points or typing the price into the wrong field – sounds silly but when repeatedly typing in data for each new trade along with subsequent pyramid entries it easy to make mistakes.  These mistakes caused me to fumble entries at least once a week!  And I was tired of eye-balling my entry lines and jumping between windows…  Instead I wanted to see the trade parameters directly on the chart and compare it to my analysis.  On top of that, once I developed the stop loss algorithm, I could walk away confident that my trade would take care of itself.  No more babysitting or setting alarms and waking up in the middle of the night to execute a blurry-eyed trade decision.  Following the philosophy of Parametric Trading, once I planned my trade and laid it out using TradeCopilot I could literally walk away knowing I was following my rules.  The trade would either work out or not, but my intervention would likely only get in the way.

I showed it to some trading buddies who loved the ideas and suggested others would find it useful as well.  Knowing my standards for quality I slowly plugged away at making it robust and more open-ended to how I could imagine other traders might want to use it.  First I had to build the bridge to MT4 into a robust and rock solid companion app.  Then I could move on to finalizing the trade manager and adding features.  I’m pretty proud of how far the idea has come and, more to the point, I can’t imagine trading without it now.

I’ve had some great trading mentors along the way and they have influenced my trading philosophy and hence design of this management app – ProAct Traders and Gabriel Grammatidis.   I am grateful for them along my journey.
